AMILAG’23 AGRI-INDUSTRIAL & TOURISM TRADE FAIR OPEN UNTIL JUNE 18

LAGAWE, Ifugao

An agri-industrial and tourism trade fair is ongoing at the Capitol Plaza, Lagawe as part of the economic recovery efforts of the government after the COVID19 pandemic, and in line with the 2023 Gotad Ad Ifugao and the 57th Founding Anniversary celebration of the province. Various agricultural and local products as furniture, wearables, handicrafts, processed foods, food services, vegetables, and fish, among others, from the different municipalities are available at the AMLAG 2023: Gotad Ad Ifugao Agri-Industrial and Tourism Trade Fair until June 18.

“The Amlag is a venue to showcase and market our agricultural products and MSME products. It is an opportunity for our farmers and entrepreneurs to make some brisk sales and for us, Immipugo, and visitors alike to patronize their products,” Provincial Planning and Development Officer and Gotad Task Force Chairperson Carmelita Buyuccan said. She thanked the Department of Trade and
Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) and their attached agencies for their support to Ifugao agriculture and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector.

Buyuccan also acknowledged the farmers and entrepreneurs for heeding the call to lead productive lives through farming and business endeavors. She also lauded the provincial and local government
units for spearheading the development of agriculture and MSMEs in their respective municipalities and the province as a whole. DTI- Ifugao Director Francis Pacio also encouraged
the community and the public to patronize the products being displayed at the fair. “Go Local, Buy Local,” Pacio said.

“Think Global, Act Local,” added DA- Ifugao Provincial Coordination Officer Charlemagne Monayao as he encouraged the farmers to be entrepreneurs, too. He also reminded them to diversify their produce and set their planting time during the off-season to avoid over supply of vegetables and other agricultural products. Provincial Tourism Officer Roscoe Kalaw said the
Amlag(local vernacular for display) is the first of the series of events of the Gotad ad Ifugao, with the theme “Gotad ad Ifugao: Linggop, Hangleh ya Amlong! or Well-being, Progress, and Happiness!.”
