The local government was able to generate more than P3.8 million from the parking tickets that were issued by the personnel of the City
Engineering Office – Traffic and transportation Management Division (CEO-TTMD) from January to April this year. In a report, the CEO stated that its personnel were able to issue some 102,711 parking tickets in the different parking areas operated by the local government in the different parts of the city. The operation and management of the different parking areas is part of the mandate of the CEO to efficiently regulate road safety and enforcement around the city.
The CEO reported that the towing crew removed some 32 motorcycles and 116 vehicles resulting in the collection by the local government of more than P168,200 in fines. The CEO added that its personnel were also able to apprehend some 3,026 traffic violators where some 1,396 individuals reportedly paid their respective finds that contributed some P757,150 to the coffers of the local government that helped
maintain order and improve traffic conditions in the different parts of the city.
The CEO is the cornerstone of the local government’s infrastructure development, ensuring that every project upholds the principles of safety, functionality and sustainability. It is composed of eight divisions where it delivers comprehensive services that significantly contribute to the city’s advancement. It pointed out that safety extends to the city’s lighting systems as well, thus, it endeavors to maintain and repair the various lighting systems around the city. Moreover, it also ensures that traffic signals lights established along the different
thoroughfares are properly maintained and are functional to ensure the smooth flow of traffic for the convenience of both motorists and pedestrians.
