The 1500-meter athletics events at the 2025 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet showcased outstanding performances, with Baguio City, Ifugao, and Apayao emerging as top contenders in both the elementary and secondary divisions. In the secondary boys’ division, Baguio City’s Ken Reyzen D. Herrera secured the gold medal, clocking in at 4 ‘31”73 seconds. He was followed closely by Tabuk City’s Jemlou Lloyd B. Asgalao, who finished with a time of 4 ‘32”24 seconds to take silver. Benguet’s Chen Chesney B. Tatiple placed third with a time of 4 ‘37”34 seconds, earning the bronze.
Meanwhile, the secondary girls’ category saw Apayao dominating the top spots, with Mia D. Ulabo clinching gold at 5:26.75 and her teammate May Ann J. Pedronan taking silver at 5 ‘27”16 seconds. Abra’s Daniella T. Acuzar completed the podium, securing bronze with a time of 5 ‘34”78 seconds. The elementary division had its own share of thrilling races. Ifugao’s Jhackson T. Bachahon displayed endurance and speed, winning the boys’ 1500-meter gold medal with a time of 5 ‘11”99 seconds.
Kalinga’s Mark June B. Maling followed at 5:20.40 for silver, while Clifford B. Bowat, also from Kalinga, earned the bronze with a time of 5 ‘21”9 seconds. The elementary girls’ race saw Baguio City’s Chrissa Mae Joy Baldan finishing first at 5:28.58 seconds, followed by Apayao’s Qui-Fhaye B. Labago at 5 ‘34”40 seconds for silver, and Benguet’s Ryzii A. Sabedra secured bronze at 5 ‘53”76 seconds.
