Beneco sets three annual members’ meetings in June

Members of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco) are being advised to submit issues they believe should be discussed in three membership assemblies the cooperative board has set next June.
The Beneco board led by Engr. Rocky M. Aliping and general manager Gerardo Verzosa set the three membership assemblies on June 2 in Tublay, Benguet; June 5 in Bokod, Benguet; and June 16 at the Burnham Athletic Bowl in Baguio City.
Aliping explained the board decided on three meetings in order to reach out to the most number of consumer-members, thereby providing them greater opportunity to attend and participate in the annual assembly.
“We have to reach out to as many members as it’s difficult to invite them in a single venue and meeting in either Baguio or Benguet, as has been the case for many years,” Aliping said.
Part of the plan to attract attendance and participation in the annual assemblies is the annual raffle draw where top prizes include motorcycles, the board said.
Meanwhile, member-consumers who have issues they want to be discussed during the meetings are advised to submit these to any of the members of the board of directors or to the management at its office along South Drive here.
Among the issues the Beneco management plans to include in the agenda is the proposal to have the system registered with the Cooperative Development Authority, instead of with the National Electrification Administration. RAMON DACAWI / ABN
