LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Unfazed by shortage of labor and delivery of materials, the Provincial Engineering Office has sustained infrastructure projects which improved the transport of agricultural products, people’s mobility and mitigate impacts of climate changes.
In a report to Engr. Jerry Bogano, Acting Provincial Engineer by Engr. Faustino Bongoyao, Assistant Provincial Engineer and Engr. Jimmy Esnara, Chief of Construction, as of December 31,2021, a substantial projects CY 2021 were completed.
Engr. Esnara reported that a total of 85 projects worth P117.205 million for CY 2021 were completed. These projects include farm-to-market-roads (FMR), school buildinags, health facilities, and slope protection among others.
While Acting Assistant Provincial Engr. Bongoyao disclosed that close to P20M worth projects CY 2021 were also completed.
Those competed projects programmed in 2021 are the improvement provincial roads in Suyoc-Beckel; Tuludan- Sayangan; and Lomon Paytek.
Bongoyao added that other completed projects (CY 2021) also include the rehabilitation/improvement of Tublay Gate-Tublay Presidencia; Guinaoang- Suyoc-Gambang; La Trinidad- Capitol-Bineng, among others.
For 2022, the Benguet Provincial Eng’g Office has programmed a total 407 projects with total allocation of P745.8 million from various fund source.
In a recent interview with Assistant Prov’l Engineer Bongoyao, who represented Prov’l Engr Bogano, who was on official leave, said their office is committed to sustain its mandate despite difficulties due to the pandemic.
He candidly revealed that among the reasons the delay in the completion of various projects include—issues on road right of way; environment compliance certificate; transport of construction materials brought by health protocols, among others.
