CALL TO ACTION
Regional Director Socrates Gaerlan of the Mines Geosciences Bureau-Cordillera (MGB-CAR) vows that he will act expeditiously on the decades-old issues and concerns of pocket miners in the region as he warmly welcomed the officials,members of the Benguet Federation of Small-Scale Miners,Inc. (BFSSMI) led by Norberto Cobaldes, Alfred Bugnosen who paid a courtesy call on Monday (June 23). To ensure cooperation, Gaerlan emphasized that regular dialogue -open communication are vital in resolving problems. In fact, the newly installed official echoed his marching orders to help pocket miners. By doing so, it will lift ssm economic condition. During the meeting some members of the federation inquired the status of their Minahang Bayan applications and ask the agency to assist them to conduct
trainings such as safety. The group also commits responsible small-scale mining.
