CAUGHT “LADY LIEUTENANT” OF SOMALI-FILIPINO DRUG DEALER SENTENCED

BAGUIO CITY (August 10, 2022) – Lady drug courier  Areeya Fernandez Damogo, 28, notorious for taking drug courier tasks from a local big-time Filipino-Somali drug dealer, was sentenced by a local court here Monday to stay in prison for a minimum of 2 years and one day to a maximum of 4 years and also pay P30,000 as fine.

Damogo, who fell into a sting laid out by NBI-Cordillera joined by PDEA and Baguio City policemen on July last year along Pacdal barangay here, will also has to spend 6 months rehabilitation and 18 months after care program in connection to using drugs.

Damogo, who also did drug courier tasks from other drug dealers in the city using her charm unto shabu users, earlier availed of the plea bargaining chip,  prompting RTC branch 61 Judge Lilibeth Sindayen-Libiran to lower down the infamous lady drug courier’s sentence from reclusion temporal (12 years and one day minimum jail term to 20 years).

NBI-Cordillera regional director Atty. Cesar Bacani said Damogo’s prosecution and eventual conviction is yet another success of government’s fight versus the drug scourge menacing Filipino families and society.  He encouraged his men and other law enforcement agencies to continue winning the drug war.

Damogo,  authorities found out, was also aligned with a drug group notoriously enticing young women for drugs, sex and later on recruit them to become drug transporters.
