CHARM-2 Scale up provides P58M assistance to Ifugao beneficiaries

LAGAWE, Ifugao, June 18PIA) – More than P58 million worth of assistance were provided to beneficiaries of the Second Cordillera Highland and Agricultural Resource Management (CHARM-2) Scale-up Project of the Department of Agriculture(DA) implemented in the province.
These interventions that include agro-forestry, grants, rural infrastructure and trainings were delivered to various people’s organizations in barangays Abatan of Hungduan, Anao in Hingyon and Gumhang in Tinoc. Abatan received P23.99 million worth of interventions while Gumhang and Anao got more than P23.84M and P10.22M, respectively purposely for the projects and activities of the
various organizations in said barangays.
Jerry Damoyan of the DACordillera said the CHARM-2 Scale Up project is the offshoot of the productive implementation of CHARM 1 and 2 projects in the previous years.
“The CHARM project is a partnership among the DA, national government agencies, LGUs and funding agencies. Our advocacy is a project demand driven rather than supply. It should be what the beneficiaries need,” he said.
Meanwhile, the DA facilitated the turn-over and acceptance of various documents of the CHARM-2 scale-up projects received by representatives of local government units and people’s organizations from the three barangays in preparation for the termination of the project this month.
