CITY OKAYS DRUG TESTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BGHMC

The city council passed resolution no. 661, series of 2023, confirming the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) entered into by the city government represented by Mayor Benjamin Magalong
and the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) represented by its Chief Dr. Ricardo Runez. The agreement is for the implementation at the BGHMC of free drug testing services to persons who use drugs (PWUDs) as may be identified and referred by the city
government.

The local legislature considered a letter dated September 29, 2023, of City Mayor’s Office Special
Services Division head Michelle Agbuya, City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) secretariat,
furnishing a copy of the signed MOA. In its 2nd Indorsement dated October 26, this year, the august body’s Committee on Laws, Human Rights and Justice, recommended the adoption of a resolution formally confirming the said MOA.
