CLAIRE JAUN-TORRES BRINGS BACK SUMMER IN HER ONE-WOMAN SHOW AT WITCHCRAFT

Swiss-Filipino artist Claire Jaun-Torres will launch her 8th one-woman show at The Gallery by Witchcraft this Saturday, September 7, from 2 to 5 in the afternoon. Jaun Torres’ show, Provoking Summer (Kalgaw), features ten huge paintings that bring us back to her memories of summer in Ilocos and recent travels to Europe. Her abstract expressionist paintings use warm colors to evoke the “kalgaw” or the fierce summers of her youth.

Among the favorite paintings in the exhibit are “Golden Kiss”, “The Open Door”, “Flow”, “Simplicity” and “Tenderness.” Narvacan Mayor Pablito Sanidad Sr. will cut the ribbon for the show. As an added attraction, special limited edition of Witchcraft’s Ghost Gin and Avallach Single Mart Whisky will be sold with Jaun Torres’ paintings as their labels. Jaun Torres is a self-taught artist but is well sought among art collectors here and abroad. Her last one-woman show was held in Clark Marriott Hotel in Pampanga early this year. Proceeds from her show were used to support the Pasa-Kalye Artists, the Baguio City High School Arts Group and other charity works.
