Construction worker patay sa Pangasinan

MAPANDAN, PANGASINAN – Patay ang isang 45-anyos na construction worker matapos itong ma-trap sa isang drainage canal nang gumuho ang pader nito sa Barangay Nilombot, probinsiyang ito noong Agosto 28, 2018.
Kinilala ni Senior Inspector Bernard Antolin ang biktimang si Roberto Peralta, residente ng Barangay Matic-Matic, Sta. Barbara.
Base sa imbestigasyon, ayon kay Antolin, nagtatrabaho si Peralta sa halos five-foot na lalim ng kanal nang gumuho ang pader nito.
“The drainage being constructed is very near a creek, and the victim was shovelling the land drainage canal’s flooring to flatten it because it was uneven, so that the water would flow, but due to non-stop rains in the past weeks, the drainage canal’s walls, still of soil since it is still being constructed, collapsed,” aniya.
Umabot ng isang oras bago makuha si Peralta mula sa hukay ng kaniyang mga kasamahan, ani Antolin.
Dagdag pa niya na ang biktima ay dinala sa malapit na ospital subalit agad namatay dahil sa blunt force trauma, ayon sa kaniyang attending physician.
“We heard from the family of the victim that the company, which Peralta works for, will shoulder the cost of the victim’s funeral,” ani Antolin. H.AUSTRIA, PNA
