BAGUIO CITY (July 10, 2020) – Cordillera highland region has already a total of 129 COVID19 cases, 19 of which are still active. Baguio leads the number with 50 total with four active still active cases, 44 recoveries and two mortalities.
Baguio accounts for 38.76 percent of the total cases in the region.
Benguet comes close with 45 cases, nine active and 36 recoveries. The province accounts for 34.88 percent of the total cases in the region. Benguet and Baguio account for 73 percent of the total cases registered in the region.
Apayao has 11 cases already, three active while Abra with nine, with a single active case now. Kalinga has seven, with one still in the hospital, Ifugao has six with three active and Mountain Province had a single patient.
Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero said “K08” is a 30 year old female police officer with travel history from the National Capital Region. She has been placed at an isolation in Tabuk City, the mayor added.
The Kalinga capital city became COVID19-free since last week, if not for the positive case that emerged Friday. Patient “K07”, the 33-year old Overseas Filipino Worker who tested positive on June 20, tested negative on her fourth swab. Estrañero reiterated Tabukeños not to let their guards down “and continue obeying health and safety protocols”. Tabuk City is maintaining 4 isolation areas: the Agbannawag Holding Center and Isolation Unit for the Rapid Test Reactive Individuals and the Tabuk City High School, STS Dagupan and the AVT-Man-ugudan Hall at the Pastoral Center as green areas.
According to Tabuk City health officer Dr. Henrietta Bagayao, the city was able to contain the COVID19 infection transmission after successful contact tracing credited to the triange and testing system in place and functional isolation units. Tabuk City is welcoming a minimum of 20 LSIs daily. The city is planning to set up another isolation facility near the Agbannawag Evacuation Center.
