Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) celebrates its 35th Founding Anniversary on July 15, 2022, led by former Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan hit the unity gong with the presence of City Mayor Benjamin Magalong and Baguio Rep. Mark Go and other regional and local officials.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “One Autonomous Cordillera: Ensuring Social Development and Inclusive Growth in the New Normal.” with Mt. Province as the host of the celebration, Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan assures us that they are ready to welcome everyone who will join the monthlong celebration.
Gov. Lacwasan is optimistic that with the Marcos Administration, autonomy in the Cordillera will be realized. On July 15, 1987, Former -President Corazon Aquino issued Executive Order 220 which created the Cordillera Administrative Region as a special temporary administrative region while waiting for ongoing efforts for the establishment of an autonomous region.
The event was held at Baguio Convention and Cultural Center, on July 15, 2022.
