COVID-19 Reschedules Undas In Baguio City

BAGUIO CITY (October 2, 2020) – COVID19 have rescheduled All Saints and All Souls Day commemoration here. Baguio residents may visit departed loved ones in public cemeteries and private memorial parks starting October 1, with compliance to minimum health protocols such as wearing of face mask and face shield, the city government urged, while visits starting Saturday, October 17, depends on the color of market passes issued to households earlier.

Five adults per family including the card holder may enter the cemetery from 7AM to 5PM. Yellow card holders may visit on Oct. 17, 20,21, 23,24,27and 28; Green on Oct 17,19,21,22,24,26 and 28; and Blue on 19, 20,22,23,26 and 27.

Every individual should always have his/her identification card. Senior citizens and 13 to 20-year olds may visit during Sundays, Oct. 18 and 25, accompanied by adults and limited to five per group. Each should have his/her identification card, wear face mask, face shield and practice social distancing.

La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tuba-Tublay (LISTT) residents may visit during the two Saturdays; October 17 and 24; within the same time and bound by the same rules on minimum health protocols.

Cemetery goers are urged however to limit their visits to two hours, for other visitors to avail of the same within the day. Mayor Benjamin Magalong expressed confidence that city cemeteries remain open as Baguio residents are disciplined and follow health protocols, however, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) issued a national advisory that public and private cemeteries, memorial parks and columbarium’s’ are closed to the public from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4.

Naguilian road, the main route to Baguio’s Public Cemetery shall be on a two-way traffic scheme on Nov.17 to 28, de la Pena said, with pay parking areas at Cooyesan and Recoletos Seminary. Motorists shall practice a pick-and-go scheme along the cemetery gate, de la Pena added.

There shall be no selling of flowers, candles and other items outside and within the cemetery. Flowers and candles are allowed to be sold along the Ganza area in Burnham Park.
