CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Apr.6 (PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-SWAD) targets 35,868 family-beneficiaries in the province under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
Erlinda Taquiqui, SWAD team leader, said the target is equitably distributed to the municipal and city local government units.
Target for Balbalan is 2,056 families; Lubuagan, 1,473; Pasil, 1,626; Pinukpuk, 5,401; Rizal, 2,873; Tabuk, 18,660; Tanudan, 1,608, and Tinglayan, 2,171 families.
“It’s up to the municipal/city LGUs to breakdown the target per barangay. We advised barangay chairmen to base the identification of beneficiaries on their pre-identified master list, validate the list and select the poorest families in the barangays,” Taquiqui said.
She said the amount of Php197 million is obligated and ready for direct downloading to municipal local government units as soon as the requirements are complete.
Collection of memorandum of agreement between local chief executives and DSWD-CAR is ongoing; she said adding that all barangay chairmen were oriented on SAP.
Taquiqui informed they will meet with other SAP implementer to reconcile their beneficiaries in order to avoid duplication.
The provision of SAP is part of the “Bayanihan to Heal as One” Act that provides urgent measures to combat and to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
