Four Tabuk elementary schools slated for upgrade

Four elementary schools in Tabuk took the first step to become better-funded learning institutions after the city council this week approved
an ordinance on first reading to that effect.
In its last city council last Monday, members of the said body approved the proposed ordinance of councilor Eduardo Sacayle to make four schools into an integrated learning institution.
These are the Addang Primary School, the Cataw Primary School, the Appas Elementary School, and Ipil ES in the Addang, Cataw, Appas
and Ipil Integrated Schools.
The proposed ordinance was the embodiment of a proposal by the Tabuk City Local School Board’s recommendation which is based on the Department of Education Order No. 40, series of 2014 or the Revised Guidelines on the Establishment, Merging, Conversion, and Naming/Renaming of Public Schools, as well as the Separation of School Annexes in Basic Education.
To effect the conversion, an ordinance must be passed by the city council. If passed, the conversion of the schools will “ensure the enhancement of basic education delivery to certain communities in the city by the Department of Education’s quality standards for the benefit and welfare of the city’s people.”
Separate resolutions relating to the establishment of public schools in Nasgueban, Appas, and Luyukan, Lacnog East, namely Nasgueban Elementary School and Pablo Wangdali Elementary School, will be proposed in the meanwhile.
The members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod will tackle the next stages of the legislative process once the regular session resumes after the election on May 19.
