TUDING, Itogon
A refreshing burst of energy filled the air as SK Tuding held its first-ever Fun Run as part of its community health initiative. Runners Jonathan Mangonon and Jasmin Lex Ngina topped their respective categories. While David Lang and Analyn Walis ruled the 31 yr division. The 3-kilometer run tested endurance and determination, especially along the uphill and bumpy terrain leading to Barangay Hall. The event welcomed participants of all ages, including children, adults, and senior citizens, underscoring the SK’s aim to promote holistic well-being throughout the barangay.
Despite an early drizzle, 39 participants gathered at the Baguio Gold Open Court by 4:30 AM. SK Chairman Richard Caccam led the opening with a short prayer and warm-up exercises before officially kicking off the 3-kilometer run. One participant Jonathan Mangonon shared, “Masaya na mahirap, mahirap kasi matarik ‘yung ahon at malubak pero hindi hadlang pag disidido ka manalo. Masaya kasi nakita mo ang bunga ng iyong ensayo.” This is the first time that this event has been conducted, which led to some shortcomings in time management and coordination. Beyond the competition, the event help build unity, health, and active participation within the barangay.
