Engineer Lomino Kaniteng (standing), president of the Benguet Federation of Small-Scale Miners, Inc (BFSSMI), appeals to officials of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) by urging the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to lift its stoppage order against the conduct of small-scale mining operations in the Cordillera region. Kaniteng made the appeal during the BSP’s consultation on October 12, 2019, of its draft on the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 11256 “An Act To Strengthen The Country’s Gross International Reserves.”
