Re-elected Governor Melchor Diclas sustains plans and aspirations guided by his HEALTHIER Benguet agenda. Diclas,who got an over-whelming 116,212 votes, is consistent on his position that farmers should handle the management of Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC). Re-elected Governor Melchor Diclas vowed to further develop three government hospitals by adding dialysis and canter centers. In an interview minutes after he was proclaimed on Tuesday (May 13), Governor Diclas who is on his third and final term said there are ongoing construction – improvement of three hospitals namely Benguet General Hospital, Kapangan and District Hospitals. Diclas said these hospitals need to be developed by putting up dialysis and cancer centers in order that it will expand health care services to constituents. He stressed that health is among his top priorities, he expect that by 2028 all those developments will be functional to include infrastructure projects and social services. He assured to that all sectors are being attended even as he expressed gratitude to all their supporters and volunteers.

On the nagging issue of the multi-million Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC), Diclas is consistent about his position that the management of the vegetable trading center should be handled by local farmers. He observed that ‘the current administration is moving toward that direction direction.’ Hosting of Palarong Pambansa Despite ‘challenges,’ the governor is optimistic that Benguet Province together with Baguio City will co-host the school-based sports activity. ‘Let us think positive.’ He pointed the improved sports facilities especially on the newly refurbished multi-million Benguet Sports Complex which Representative Eric Yap was instrumental in sourcing
funds for its development. He further said the facilities in Baguio City and the Province are enough to host the Palaro. ‘As we continue with our plans and aspirations guided by our HEALTHIER Benguet agenda, we commit to uphold the values of transparency, accountability, and compassionate service.
