LINGAYEN, Pangasinan
More than 550 Pangasinan provincial employees, some of them working for decades finally got the promotion they desired during the first term of Gov. Ramon V. Guico III. The 559 employees from the various offices of the province were given promotion or made permanent when Guico took office in July 1, 2022, the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) reported. HRMDO chief Janette Asis said that many of those promoted had been with the provincial government for decades, while some had been holding casual appointments for years until Guico took office. “We have 559 employees (promoted) from July 2022 up to March 2025,” said HRMDO said during the third career progression ceremony on April 15.
She said the first batch was composed of 276 employees, followed by 132 employees and the last was comprised of 151 employees for a “total of 559 who have experienced the career progression ceremony,” She said that when Gov. Guico assumed, the governor vowed to build an excellent provincial government workforce who will comprise the ‘Team Ang Galing.’ With this, the governor addressed the problem of many provincial employees who had been employed for years but were either not promoted or remain casual.
Guico provided trainings for said employees that allowed them to better career opportunities. “The priority during his first term is to allow promotion of permanent employees to higher positions and the promotion of casual employees to permanent positions,” said a release. “We want to be faithful to its ideals to ensure the welfare of all our people,” he said. The release added: that the governor “will lead the cause to continue raising the bar of excellence in all aspects of development.”
