GUNMAN SHOOTS DEAD ABRA TOWN BUSINESSWOMAN

DOLORES, ABRA – A still unidentified gunman shot to death a businesswoman-mother of three at around 4:10 Wednesday afternoon inside a canteen at Barangay Talogtog, Dolores, Abra.
Jennifer Manaois Belong, 35, owner of Janice Pancitan, a former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) and native of Lagayan town but living at Talogtog, Dolores town, was with her daughters having snacks when three men entered the canteen and ordered three servings of noodles.
After the noodles were served, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times then all three fled on foot to unknown directions, the Cordillera police said.
The victim sustained 4 gunshot wounds— one on her abdomen, two on her left leg, and one on her right leg. Belong was rushed by a concerned citizen at St. Theresa Wellness Center located at Sitio Ducam, Barangay Mudiit, also in Dolores town, and then transferred to Abra Provincial Hospital (APH) where she expired at around 6:00 PM.
Police investigators are still baffled about what prompted the killing.
