Ifugao PPOC, 2 mayors support anti-terrorism bill

LAGAWE, Ifugao, June 19 (PIA) – The Provincial Peace and Council (PPOC) and two mayors of the province and the manifested their respective support to House Bill No. 6875 or the Anti-Terrorism Bill.

The PPOC chaired by Governor Jerry Dalipog passed a manifesto in support to the Anti-terrorism Act of 2020 that will address the effect of terrorism causing problems and disregarding and sacrificing the rights of people.

“Aming ipinapahayag and aming taos-pusong pagsuporta sa nasabing panukalang batas at bilang miyembro ng pamahalaan, hinihikayat naming bawat isa sa aming nasasakupan ay yakapin at suportahan ang nasabing batas para sa sambahayang Pilipino at sa mga susunod pang henerasyon,” the manifesto stated.

Meanwhile, Tinoc Mayor Samson Benito said the increasing rate of terrorism in the country has been alarming and as public servant, he vowed to uphold the constitution which declares the prime duty of the government to serve and protect its people.

“I, therefore, with the people of Tinoc strongly support the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020. Together we shall not drown in desperation but rather stand with high hopes and confidence that when we
work together as one, we can live in a terrorist-free country,” Benito stated, Hungduan Mayor Casan Dumulag also voiced his constituents’ support to the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.

“It is with great courage that we stand in unity with the Administration in upholding the rights of all people of Hungduan to be protected and to be provided with a safe, peaceful and orderly community,” Dumulag said.
