STAGE TALENT IN 1ST LOCAL ARM WRESTLING EVENT La Trinidad, Benguet – Some 30 “Igorot Arm Wrestlers” showed their skills and talents in the first ever locally staged ‘Arm Wrestling Event” geared towards its promotion and eventually be recognized in the National and International Sporting Event.
According to one of the organizers of the “Team Builders Events Arm Wrestling,” Arnel Kidweng, they saw the interest of the Cordilleran Youth in the sport of Arm Wrestling, thus, their strength and physical structure is seen as prospective champions in the future.
“Before the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, we were preparing some of the Cordilleran Arm Wrestlers after plans of including “Arm Wrestling” as one of the sporting events in the Southeast Asian Games,” Kidweng said.
He added that plans are geared towards federating about 100 members of the “Arm Wrestling Groups” in the Cordillera to strengthen its status and develop more youth to be indulge in such sport aside from Combat sports.
The first Team Builders Events Arm Wresting was held at the Team Builder Gym at Dangwa Square, La Trinidad, Benguet with the theme” Building a Community of strong, fierce and resilient Igorot Arm Warriors” and supported by the Provincial Government of Benguet thru Governor Melchor Diclas at La Trinidad LGU with Mayor Romeo Salda.
