A world-class sport hub -John Hay Sports Pavilion is now open to the public. Amid heavy rain and chilly weather, City Mayor Benjamin ,
Patrick ‘Pato’ C. Gregorio, Interim General Manager of John Hay Hotels and Chairman of DuckWorld PH,and Engr. Patrick Diaz, Founder-Owner of Dreamcourt on Monday (June 2) led the launching of the multi-million sports facility together with officials of Landco Pacific Corporation- Landco Lifestyle Ventures (LLV) and Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA). The sports facility, located just at the back of John Hay Convention Center, offers a four USAP Pickleball Courts and three Standard FIBA 3×3 Basketball courts.
Mayor Magalong in his remarks ,scored the true commitment of Landco, the new developer of the former US rest and recreation facility as he congratulated the latter , John Hay Hotels, Duckworld PH and Dreamcourt for establishing a world-class sports venue. The local chief executive pointed out that through the new facility, it will boost city’s sports development. ‘Pato’ Gregorio for his part said the facility is open to the public ..no membership fee ,it only requires minimal fee for the use of said facility which is open daily from 8AM to 11PM.
‘John Hay is for the people.. John Hay is for the tourist…John Hay is for the people of Baguio and the community, ’ stressed Gregorio. ‘We (Landco ) sticked to our promise.. we stick to our commitment.. inclusivity. Everything we do is for the community.. for Baguio as a
tourist destination.’ Engr Diaz, founder of Dreamcourt and developer of the said sports pavilion said for almost five years now his company is known for premium world-class courts of any size, color, logos and markings.
Diaz confided that exactly 74 days (on the day of the launching of the sports pavilion) since March 21.2025 , when he was invited by
Gregorio after the latter saw the success of UP community courts -also a project of Dreamcourt. The John Hay Sports Pavilion was established in a record-time. ‘My dream is not to make profit from business but to impact communities.. and I have a deep understanding …sports can unite people,’ Diaz said.
