A New Year and a new Baguio Waters District director. The district this week formally welcomed its newest board member with engineer Eliseo Lagman finally assuming his seat of the five member
Board. After more than two months in an acting capacity, Lagman became the official representative of the professional sector on New Year’s Day.

Lagman served the last two months of his father’s, Felino, six year term who died in October last year. Mayor Benjamin Magalong in November last year said that he officially appointed the younger Lagman as recommended by the BWD selection committee and deemed his capable to replace the late director and represent the said sector. The younger Lagman was the only applicant to submit all the needed requirement for the position, a big shoes he has to fill.

“It will be a tall task but I will do my best,” he said as he admitted that he is still trying to learn the ropes especially technical matters that will make him an effective decision maker for the district. He also referred to his late father, one of the best loved district director. In appointing Lagman,
Magalong said: “I have confidence in the choice of the BWD selection committee.” Lagman is the second Apache member in the five seat board.

He joins newly appointed Apache chief Jonathan Vergara in the board with the latter serving as a
representative of the civic organization and the all Baguio boys club nominating him for the post.
The board is chaired by Renato Rondez, who is the representative for the education sector, Kenneth So for business and long-time women’s representative Sonia Dao-as.
