Landslide in La Union hit a gasoline station and vehicles, no casualty reported

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Due to continuous downpours of rains in Northern Luzon, a landslide was hit and damages a gasoline branch station, three tricycles, and two motorcycles parked are totally wrecked along diversion road of Sevilla Wednesday (Aug. 11, 2021) in this city.
According to Jam Celeste, cashier of Sea Oil gasoline station, said in an interview that around 3:00 am he was sudden awake when one of his coworker wake him up that told to get out on the cashier booth.
“Nasa cashier booth po ako, medyo paidlip na dahil medaling araw ito, isang kasamang attendant nasa labas na meron siyang naramdaman na may bumato sa kanya, tapos nilingon nya, at doon na sunod sunod na ang tipak na bato at bumabagsak na sunod sunod tapos ang ginawa nya agad nya akong kinatok at ginising,” he said.
He added, “lumabas ako sumunod na rin bumagsak ang sanga ng puno, ang mga kalapit bahay sa lugar nabulabog na naglabasan kasi may mga naka parked na sasakyan, kinuha na nila yung mga sasakyan nila, kaso, meron parin mga nadaganan na sasakyan, tatlong tricycle kasama na yung service namin, at dalawang single motor, tapos sumunod na rin bumagsag ang dalawang puno and yung malaking gusali,” Celeste said.
A concrete wall which supposedly supports to the said establishment ground was wrecked due to heavy landslide. The incident has no casualty reported, however, the private gasoline branch have lost heavy damages.
According to the City Engineering office, they are now coordinated to the concrete wall contractors on the establishment due to lack of heavy equipment for the clearing operation. The mountain hill was ground near to the provincial Capitol Hill.
