LIVELIHOOD OPPORTUNITIES FOR FARMERS INCREASE AFTER INAUGURATION OF NEW MULTI-PURPOSE CENTER

Balaoan, LA UNION – Farmers and residents of Barangay Calungbuyan, Balaoan, La Union were full of optimism
and excitement after Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David spearheaded the inauguration and blessing
of Calungbuyan Farmer’s Multi-Purpose Center on August 15, 2022.

The said infrastructure was funded by the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) as a support to the farmers and their families, as well as other residents, from the said barangay. The building shall be used in various activities that would hone the skill sets of the kaprobinsiaan leading to the development of innovative and alternative profitable business ideas and products, and livelihood opportunities.

The PGLU acknowledges the efforts and contribution of the agriculture sector, including the farmers, not only in the
recovery of the province’s pandemic-hit economy but likewise in their support for #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan in
the realization of the province’s vision to be the Heart of Agritourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
