LU’S BAHAY PAG-ASA PAVES PROVINCE’S AWARD AS BEST COMPREHENSIVE LOCAL JUVENILE INTERVENTION PROGRAM IMPLEMENTER IN REGION

SAN FERNANDO, La Union

The Province of La Union emerged as the top Comprehensive Local Juvenile Intervention Program
(CLJIP) Implementer in the Provincial Category during the 12th Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week. The award was conferred to Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) by the Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council 1, acknowledging the province’s unwavering
commitment and significant support in realizing the objectives of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC).

It highlights La Union’s exceptional efforts in fully implementing the provisions of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006. At the heart of La Union’s success in juvenile intervention is the establishment of Bahay Pag-asa for Children-in-Conflict with the Law, a pioneering initiative that stands as the first and only one in Region 1. This facility has played an important role in shaping La Union’s approach to juvenile justice.

This recent recognition follows La Union’s previous triumph as the Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA) Champion in 2021, showcasing the province’s consistent dedication to
championing juvenile justice initiatives. The Provincial Government of La Union continues to call for La Union PROBINSYAnihan as it remains steadfast in its mission to provide a supportive
environment for the rehabilitation and reintegration of youth in conflict with the law, setting a commendable example for other provinces and Local Government Units to pursuit of a more just and humane society.
