More than 1k PROCOR cops deployed to secure the region

In response to the continuous monsoon rain enhanced by Typhoon Fabian in the Cordillera Region, all units of Police Regional Office Cordillera assured their preparedness by conducting Search and Rescue Equipment Inspection and coordination with their respective Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council for possible response.
Acting on the instructions of the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, 1101 SAR trained personnel were on standby for possible deployment.
In Abra, 230 SAR trained personnel are on standby; 95 in Apayao; Baguio has 104; Benguet has 201; Ifugao with 114; Kalinga with 161; Mountain Province with 118; and 78 personnel are on standby from RMFB15.
As per monitoring, PROCOR personnel in coordination with various government agencies and community stakeholders has initiated road clearing operations to allow unimpeded passage of emergency response vehicles, relief operations and travel within the area of responsibility.
They also responded in relief operations and assisted in the evacuation of affected residents.
As weather forecast indicate that the prevailing Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains, the public is advised to take precautionary measures against its possible impacts.
