Mother, baby killed in Kalinga mishap; Another 6 year old boy in Benguet

BAGUIO CITY (May 29, 2022)— A mother and her 6-month old baby and another six year-old boy were killed in two separate vehicular mishaps Saturday afternoon in Kalinga and Benguet provinces.
The mother and child who were  inside their home were killed after a speeding SUV rammed a store and the house they were into at around 3:00PM at the intersection of Kalinga-Isabela National Road and Barangay Bulo Road, Agbannawag, Tabuk  City , Kalinga.
The mother who died on the spot was identified as a certain Claire Daluping, 39 while the six-month-old baby who later died at the hospital was identified as Kawih  Daluping, both from sitio Dananao, Barangay Lacnog East, Tabuk, City.
The Tabuk City police said , the SUV driven by a certain Edwin Ortiz came from Isabela and was heading to Bulanao, Tabuk City when the latter overtook another vehicle but it swerved left prompting him to avoid a possible collision.
But Ortiz, who was going on high speed lost control of the wheel and headed towards the store at the edge of the road. 
After ramming the store hitting two more residents who were sitting on the porch, the SUV crashed into to a house where the mother and child were in.  The two other victims were identified as Kristell Gasatan and Beverly Dacumos, both rushed to the  Kalinga Provincial Hospital after sustaining injuries in different parts of their bodies.
In Benguet, a six-year old boy was declared dead-on-arrival moments  after he was hit by a passing vehicle in also Saturday afternoon in Barangay Bacong, Loacan, Itogon, Benguet
The victim was identified as Zenjan Oyaan, 6, student and a resident of the said village.
Itogon police reported that the vehicle driven by Marcial Ballogan Buyuccan was traversing the Baguio-Nueva Viscaya Road  in Loacan, Itogon when the accident occured. Buyuccan came from Poblacion East Lagawe, Ifugao.
Buyuccan reportedly noticed he hit into something but when he stopped and checked, he saw the boy already lying on the road. 
The boy was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) but did not make it.
The driver is now under police custody and will be facing charges of
reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
