Mountain Province’s first and lone COVID-19 case recovers

BONTOC, Mountain Province, June 30(PIA) — The lone confirmed COVID-19 case of the province was discharged from the Luis Hora Regional Memorial Hospital (LHRMH) yesterday and is back in his hometown in Besao.
LHRMH staff under the leadership of hospital chief Dr. Ed Calpito during their flag ceremony on June 29 sent off Rodel Degay home after testing negative of the virus twice. He is asymptomatic.
Degay was brought to the LHRMH in Abatan, Bauko on June 16 right after his positive result was released. He is a close contact of a COVID-19 positive case from Buguias, Benguet who came to Besao on June 6 before he was also swabbed.
Besao Municipal Health Officer Dr. Joy Didican, who personally fetched Degay from the hospital, stated the recovered patient will remain in their municipal quarantine facility until further notice.
His close contacts; who have also been swabbed and have negative test results. will finish their mandatory 14-day quarantine period today. Health authorities and local officials in the province continue to remind the public to continue practicing and promoting minimum health standards and to rely only on official pronouncements and share only verified information.
