‘No Lockdown In Abra’

Abra Governor Ma. Jocelyn Bernos clarified that her province is not on a lockdown though strictly implementing precautionary measures to ensure the safety of Abrenians against COVID-19.
Following the emergency meeting of the Abra Provincial Interagency Task Force on the COVID-19, Bernos issued Executive Order No. MR-05 series of 2020 “Directing the Implementation of Precautionary Measures at the Entry Points of the Province of Abra.”
The EO provides that all individuals, both residents and those visiting Abra are directed to execute a Health Declaration Form to be submitted at each entry point of the province.
The people are asked to state in the said forms their personal and contact details, recent travel history to foreign countries and local cities or provinces in the country in the past three weeks and their illness in the past month if experiencing flu-like or COVID19 signs and symptoms.
The EO states that any individual who will refuse to declare as required by this order or who will provide false information shall be dealt with accordingly as provided by law.
Meanwhile, DOH-CAR OIC-Regional Director Dr. Amelita Pangilinan said that Cordillera region still has no confirmed COVID-19 case.
There are 42 Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) of which 30 were already discharged and 12 admitted to various health facilities in the region.
Of the 12 admitted, 4 already tested negative and 8 are pending laboratory confirmatory results. Two of the patients are admitted in Abra, 5 in Baguio City and 5 in Benguet.
