In an effort to strengthen initiatives on Real Property Tax collection (RPT) in La Union, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Treasury Office (PTO) together
with the Office of the Provincial Assessor (OPAss) spearheaded the conduct of two simultaneous Tax Caravans in the First and Second Districts of La Union on November 17, 2023.

In coordination with the municipal treasurers, personnel from the PTO and OPAss visited every municipality to educate and encourage constituents to settle their Real Property Tax on time. The team discussed the tax regulations and reminded the significant role of every resident in the development of programs and services in the province.

In support to the advocacy of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David on efficient revenue generation, the activity aimed to inform kaprobinsiaan on tax programs and the discounts that they can avail of when they make advance payments. Provincial Treasurer Janet D. Molina reminded the
residents to pay their taxes on time to avail discounts. “Awisek garud dagiti kaprobinsiaantayo,
kas ‘tay kuna ni Gov. Rafy, agLa Union PROBINSYAnihan tayo iti panagbayad iti taxestayo on time,” she emphasized.

PGLU offers 20% discount to real property owners who want to pay their real property tax in advance for the next year from November to December 31, 2023; while 10% discount will be given to those who will pay within the schedule from January 1 to March 31, 2024. The activity displayed the spirit of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan as the Local Government Units actively showed support and participated in the program.
