A total of 51 Persons with DisabilityAffairs Office (PDAO) Focal Persons and officers of the
Pederasyon ng May Kapansanan ng La Union (PMKLU) attended the training-workshop on the
Philippine Registry for Persons with Disabilities (PRPWD) version 4.0. on June 2, 2023 at the 3rd Basement, Cong. Eufranio “Franny” C. Eriguel Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
With aim for an extensive inclusion of all PWDs, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), in coordination with the Department of Health Region I, capacitated the PDAO Focal Persons and PMKLU Officers, on the general guidelines on the Philippine Registry for PWDs before availing a PWD ID, the proper way to fill-up the application forms for the PRPWD 4.0, and how to classify the type of disabilities. The comparison of the new and old forms was also explained.
Each of the participants took turns in the actual handson filling of the Application Forms through online entry in the masterlist per LGU. This system will save time and thereby improve the profiling and database management of the PWD sector. Mr. Lowell Ian Reolegio, DOH Senior Health Program Officer and Mr. Jan Dave Navarro, DOH Computer Programmer I, were the Resource Speakers of the said activity.
In the message of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, delivered by Provincial Information Officer Rowan Joshua E. Dimaculangan, she expressed the outmost support of the
PGLU to the PWD sector as she encouraged them, “…patuloy po sana tayong mag-La Union
PROBINSYAnihan. Paano? Patuloy po kayong makibahagi sa lahat ng aktibidad ng ating government. Let us make our disabilities as special abilities. Take part po sa ating nation building at policy making tungo sa mas maayos, progresibo at inklusibong Probinsya ng La Union.”
