Salamat – Mabuhay

Kibbungan National High School (KNHS) at Poblacion, Kibungan, Benguet bade farewell to a dedicated and fatherly School Head. Jimmy D. May-os, PhD, School Principal I marked his last day of service on May 31, 2021.
“Mayat baw di manretire tan maiprograman ya way idawdawat da,” laughingly uttered by May-os as he delivered his response message as the honoree of the Salamat-Mabuhay Program for his retirement. He said that he does not know what to say but he thanked everyone who attended the said event.
May-os served as the School Head of the said school for three years. Overall, his length of service at the Department of Education is 37 years, 11 months, and 17 days. He started as a substitute teacher in this school way back 1982.
He got permanent on July 1, 1989 at Gov. Bado Dangwa Agro-Industrial School (GBDAIS) at Balakbak, Kapangan, Benguet. He has been a classroom teacher for 18 years, until he was promoted as Head Teacher III on July 17, 2000. Because of his determination, he became a School Principal on May 16, 2012 of same school.
Since there is a need for school heads who served a school for more than three years, he was detailed at KNHS, so the once substitute teacher was back as a School Head.
Meanwhile, said event was witnessed by one of the Regional Supervisors, Thelma T Dalay-on, EdD, Public Schools District Supervisor Molly M. Ablaza, EdD, Municipal Mayor Cesar M. Molitas, Retired School Principal, now the IPMR of Bakun, Hon. Berto L. Balisto, Tuba National High School Principal Geoffrey B. Palao-ay Sr. and the immediate family, together with the siblings of the honoree who gave their retirement messages.
Other attendees are Hon. Edwin G. Nitron and other Sangguniang Bayan Members, Schools Heads of Kibungan District, employees of KNHS, Kibungan Central School, and GBDAIS.
