San Fernando, apat na bayan inilagay sa MECQ

LUNGSOD NG SAN FERNANDO, La Union – Inilagay ng pamahalaang probinsiya ng La Union ang lungsod na ito at apat pang munisipalidad sa ilalim ng modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) mula Oktubre 1 hanggang 14 dahil sa tumataas na bilang ng mga kaso ng coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) at ang presensiya ng Delta variant nito.
“The provincial government received several requests for heightened community quarantine from component local government units (LGUs). Resulting from the discussion with the local chief executives (LCEs) of the component LGUs, there is a need to implement heightened community quarantine in selected localities to arrest the further spread of the virus,” sabi ni Governor Francisco Emmanuel Ortega III sa Executive Order No. 47 na inisyu noong gabi ng Setyembre 22.
Ang kapitolyong lungsod na ito at apat pang bayan ng Agoo, Balaoan, Bauang, at Sudipen ay isasailalim sa MECQ.
Samantala, ang mga bayan ng Aringay, Bacnotan, Bangar, Burgos, Caba, Bagulin, Luna, Pugo, San Juan, at Santo Tomas ay isasailalim sa general community quarantine (GCQ) habang ang mga bayan ng Naguilian, Rosario, San Gabriel, Santol, at Tubaoay isasailalim sa modified GCQ (MGCQ) sa susunod na dalawang linggo.
“The LCEs are hereby directed to reiterate their respective protocols during the period stated and to ensure compliance with the Operational Guidelines on the Application of Zoning Containment Strategy in the Localization of the National Action Plan against Covid-19 Response and other related issuances of the Inter-Agency Task Force and National Government Agencies,” ani Ortega.
Idinagdag niya na ang mga LCE ang maaaring magpatupad ng granular lockdowns, kung kinakailangan, sa kani-kanilang component barangay sa bisa ng kanilang awtoridad. Hanggang Setyembre 26, ang La Union ay may 3,008 aktibong mga kaso ng Covid-19.
