Seven people hurt in two Ilocos Sur road mishaps

BAGUIO CITY (May 28, 2022)—– At least seven individuals were hurt and one of them is in critical condition in two separate accidents in Ilocos Sur dawn Saturday.
At around 2:15 AM Saturday, a motorcycle collided with a car at Barangay Pangada, Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur where the driver of the motorcycle and his backrider suffered multiple injuries.   The latter is reportedly in critical condition at a private hospital because of serious head injury.
The rider was identified as Roland Gemmo Gomez Dela, 38 a resident of San Manuel, Pangasinan while his backrider is Robin Pajinag Semilla, 30, from Barangay Badio, Pinili, Ilocos Norte, while the driver of the car was named as Anthony Gamboa Llandela, 38, from Barangay Namnama, Sinait, Ilocos Sur and his passenger was identified as Richard Gallo Ferrer from Barangay 3, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.  They also sustained body injuries and were rushed to another private hospital.
Based on the report of the Sta. Catalina town police, the car was  West-bound while the motorcycle was on the opposite direction.  The two vehicles smashed against each other.
The police reportedly found out that all the victims were drunk.
At around 4:15 AM also on Saturday, another accident occured involving a passenger bus, a ten-wheeler truck and a pick-up truck along the National Highway in Barangay Villa Quirino, San Esteban, also in Ilocos Sur.
According to the San Esteban police, the bus was heading North when the pick-up travelling along the same direction hit the bus’ side.  The truck meanwhile was tailing the bus and was nearly hit by the pick-up.
The driver of the pick-up truck identified as Orlan Ronquillo, 29, from Barangay Nansuagao, Cauayan, also in Ilocos Sur managed to avoid the truck,  but hit a tree in the Eastern part of the road.   The truck driver— Rick Dorian, 23, from Barangay Taliao, Burgos, also in Ilocos Sur, also managed to avoid the smaller vehicle but unfortunately hit a house nearby.
As a result, both drivers and their passengers sustained multiple injuries and were rushed to the Ilocos Sur District Hospital in Narvacan, also in Ilocos Sur.   A 15-year old girl who was sleeping in the house hit by the truck was unhurt.
The bus driver who was identified as Harry James Ingan,  38, from Ilocos Norte and his passengers were also unhurt.
