SM Foundation conducts medical and dental missions

SM Foundation has extended its helping hand once again to the residents of Baguio City targeting a total of 1,500 patients. The underprivileged community especially the elderly and the children received free medical and dental assistance last May 26, 2017 at SM City Baguio Carpark Area.
SMFI initiated “Gamot Para Sa Kapwa”, a comprehensive medical and dental mission, in response to the need of the indigent families to be provided with complete healthcare.
Sixty volunteers including ten medical doctors, 10 dentists and several nurses assisted, examined and treated the patients mostly consisted of senior citizens who are members of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
SM Foundation has offered free chest X-ray, ECG, blood sugar screening, blood pressure monitoring, medical consultation, dental services and free medicines to patients in cooperation with the City Health Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development, 911 On Call, Philippine Military Academy and the City Government of Baguio.
Meanwhile, patients also received proper and complete dosage of medicines and vitamins through the “Gamot Para sa Kapwa” medicine campaign.
For SM Foundation, caring for the sick and the less fortunate has gone beyond traditional. It means promoting the total well being of individuals by providing them basic health services and most of all, encouraging them to have a positive outlook despite life’s many challenges.
