SMUGGLED CARROTS

Linda Balanggoy, an operator of the carrot trading area in the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post (LTVTP) shows smuggled carrots that came from a market in Sariaya, Quezon.
The box was marked with products of China indicating that these are imported products smuggled to the country.
Balanggoy explained that the carrots physically are very clean but it has black marks possibly indicating that the marks came from injected chemicals such as formalin to make the products have a longer shelf life.
