SP employees explore 2nd district tourism sites

SAN FERNANDO CITY, LA UNION—A total of 131 Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) employees explored the tourism sites in the 2nd District of La Union from August 2, 2019 to October 4, 2019, in their regular SP LegislaTour.

The employees visited the Bakawan Eco-Tourism Park of Bauang; Wenceslao Centennial Tree and Bamboo Craft Industry of Caba; Bangus Industry of Aringay; Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto of Agoo; and the Daing Industry and Nuestra Señora del Mar Cautiva Shrine of Sto. Tomas.  This is the 5th LegislaTour of the office since its commencement in 2017.

Each employee was required to visit and observe these tourism sites using the principles under the 5As of tourism (Attraction, Accessibility, Accommodation, Amenities, and Activities) and post pictures with appropriate caption in their respective social media accounts to promote and encourage provincemates and tourists to visit and explore the tourism sites in the province.

Likewise, each office and work unit under the SP submits a Focus Group Discussion Report of their observations, comments and recommendations to be undertaken either by the Local Government Units concerned or the SP to further improve these tourism sites. Said reports will be consolidated and summarized by the Local Research and Policy Unit of the SP for the formulation of a summary report that will be submitted to the Office of the Governor, Office of the Vice Governor and SP Chair on Tourism.

The SP LegislaTour is an enrolled program of the SP as its direct contribution to the attainment of the provincial strategy to make “La Union the Heart of the Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.”
