LA TRINIDAD, Benguet
Personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) are racing against time looking for a 16 year old male who went missing after falling unto a creek here on September 1. The male teenager, whose name was not disclosed by the authorities, police said went with his friends and partied at a waterfalls near the Mamaga creek between Barangays Lubas and Balili, La Trinidad. The teener who was said to have been drunk slipped when he stepped on a stone at the side of the creek sending him to the swollen waters.
The incident was only reported to authorities at 11:00 PM of September 1, 2024. Search and rescue groups were dispatched moments after the incident was reported but L rescuers had a hard time because the water current went stronger and the water level further rose as heavy rains poured continuously during Tropical Cyclone “Enteng”. The search parties are still scouring the creek and nearby areas in search for the missing teenager.
