The Ten Cordinanments

Tourism is a bloodstream of a province or a city just like an advertisement is a bloodstream of the three power house for promotions: radio, print, and television. With Baguio City staging its 23rd Panagbenga highlights, and the Strawberry Festival in a close municipality with a 15-minute ride without traffic congestion from B.C., there will surely be a blast of tourists.

This is where I come up with what I call “The 10 Cordinanments” to be strictly followed if we do not want to be embarrassed around our colleagues or to whomever we are with during these days.

First is the battle cry of our President that says “No to Drugs”, even if someone offers you. Second is the well-known ordinance that gave municipality of La Trinidad the distinction as a Red Orchid Awardee, “No Smoking” in public and even in other establishments. Third, this shall be really strictly implemented in Baguio especially in between Malcolm Square and Public Market that clearly stated the sign “No Jaywalking”. The fourth is banning the use of plastic in Baguio and even La Trinidad. Fifth is the “No Spitting of Momma”, which shall be observed for it makes our tourists disappointed and disgusted. Sixth is the “No Littering” ordinance for tourist and for us, too, who live in this place that tourists love to visit. Seventh is the “No Picking of Flowers”, easy to read but hard to follow, especially if we have a very active child. Well, take good care that your children will not pick flowers for it is the best way of beautification to a place. Eighth is a simple to follow ordinance, the “No Urinating in Public”, for we have a pay portable and even public comfort room for everyone. Ninth is the “No Parking” which the signboard said so, then please follow it unless you can afford to walk without using a car for a while. And tenth, follow all of these.

No iKit! You just have to learn to say No! Tanggihan ang bagay na alam mong makakasama sa prinsipyo mo at maaaring makapagpabago sa ugali mong maganda at pagkakakilala sa pagkatao mong mabuti.

Baguio City and La Trinidad always complement each other when it comes to their ordinances. After all, Baguio is a commercial place of La Trinidad’s products. In a saying “no man is an island,” no one can surely live alone; you need a partner in life. In Bible (KJV) Matthew 28:20 “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Our law has been long parallel to the Bible and so this is actually just a reminder for us to abide with it for this is yours truly Tita Ara Katter of 98.7 ZRadio FM, every Sundays, 10am to 1pm, who always reminds you “Ti panagkaykaysa, mangiwanwan iti naranyag nga pagsayaatan”
