TOUR OF LUZON’S BEST 30 RIDERS QUALIFY FOR BAGUIO – TAGAYTAY ENDURANCE RACE

The top 30 finishers in the Tout of Luzon will see action in an endurance bike race that starts in Baguio and concludes in Tagaytay City, the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines, or PhilCycling,, announced during the relaunch of the summer spectacle last Saturday at the Dap-ayan of the Camp John Hay Hotels. During said press conference, PhilCycling president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino announced that the top 30 riders will automatically qualify for the inaugural Baguio to Tagaytay Endurance Classic. Tolentino is from Tagaytay. “After the tour, we will have a sideline event—the Baguio to Tagaytay Endurance Classic race,” said Tolentino, president
of the Philippine Olympic Committee.

Tagaytay is some 312 kilometers from Baguio. “That will be a one-day, eight-hour race for the top 30 riders of the Tour of Luzon,” he
added. The revived Tour will start on April 23 in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte won April 24 and will pass through 64 municipalities and cities across six provinces in the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and Cordillera region and will conclude at Camp John Hay on May 1. Some 120 riders will compete for the coveted title, with 12 local teams who are expected to Duke it out with five foreign squads. The team champion will receive PhP1 million in cash prize while the individual winner walks home PhP500,000 the richer.
