TUBA FARMERS TO BENEFIT NEWLY TURNED OVER IRRIGATION PROJECTS

Some 25 farmers in this town will benefit from the newly turned over Canubas and Soyosoy Communal Irrigation Systems (CIS). National Irrigation Administration-Cordillera (NIA-CAR) Regional Manager Benito Espique, Jr. led the turnover of documents to the Soyosoy Irrigators’
Association, Inc. held on Aug. 18 at Camp 4 here.

Present in the ceremonial turn over were Barangay officials, Municipal Agriculture, NIA-CAR Institutional Development Unit Chief, Ps. Paulita Yagyagan, NIA-Benguet Satellite Office employees headed by Provincial Head, Engr. Godofredo Velaque and the farmers headed by the Soyosoy Irrigators’ Association, Inc. President Alex Binayan.

The Canubas and Soyoso CISs underwent repair this year. Canubas CIS has a service area of 10 hectares with 15 farmers while the Soyosoy CIS has service area of 17.12 hectares with 10 farmers.
