Two die from shooting and hacking in Abra

BAGUIO CITY (November 11, 2021) –  Two died from a shooting and hacking incident Wednesday afternoon in sitio Manaois, Barangay Poblacion, Lagayan, Abra. 
Farmer Johnny Abig Bautista, 39, first shot his drinking mate Wilson Langgi Tunggalan, 48, a carpenter, and when latter’s brother Dindo Langgi Tunggalan, 42, saw what occured between his older brother and Bautista came to the rescue and hacked the farmer on the neck killing him.
Lagayan police said the three, all neighbors, started drinking at around 12:00 noon Wednesday at the shanty of Bautista. 
Five and a half hours later, a heated argument ensued between Bautista and the older Tunggalan, prompting the former to get a shotgun rifle and shot the older Tunggalan in the nape. 
Coming to his older brother’s rescue,  the younger Tunggalan hacked the neck of Bautista killing him instantly.
The older Tunggalan was rushed at the Abra Provincial Hospital in the capital town Bangued, but was pronounced dead on arrival. 
Police immediately took custody of the younger Tunggalan, and seized the shotgun and the bolo.
