Two killed in a motorcycles-car smash-up in Ilocos Sur

BAGUIO CITY (October 25, 2021) – A motorcycle rider was declared dead on arrival (DOA) while another rider succumbed while being treated at the hospital moments after their motorcycles smahed with a car Sunday night along a road in Barangay Nanguneg East, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.

Mark Mendell Verzola, 36, from Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur did not reach the hospital alive while  Eduardo Pajimola, 32, from Barangay Silang, Sta. Maria, also in Ilocos Sur, died while being treated of injuries.

Police claimed the two were racing along the road and smashed into the car of Arvin Tenorio, 42, from barangay Pantay Daya, Vigan City, also in Illocos Sur, who occupied their lane.

Tenorio was with his wife and their child when the incident happened.

The strong impact prompted both Verzola and Pajimola to be thrown to the paved road, while Tenorio also suffered minor injuries but his wife and child were unharmed.

The driver of the car after treatment was taken under police custody, but accordingly, a possible settlement is being worked out between Tenorio and the families of the two fatalities.
