USE OF IGOROT PARK FOR AZKCO SENIOR GROUP ACITIVITY, OKAYED

Acting City Mayor Faustino Olowan signed city council resolution no. 456, series of 2022, approving the request of the Senior Citizens Association of AZKCO barangay for the use of Igorot Park for the conduct
of a livelihood for a cause, subject to conditions. The august body considered the letter dated September 14, 2022 of Association president Rosalinda Tagudar in reference to their previous letter dated August 16, 2022 requesting the use of the Igorot Park for the conduct of their livelihood for a cause project/program on
October 10 to 31, 2022 to showcase their products in celebration of Senior Citizens Month and help members with medical conditions.

The measure discloses that an earlier request was approved by the body through resolution no. 328, series of 2022, for the use of the same area for the conduct of marketing and promotional endeavor by members of the Baguio Plantito Plantita Fever for the period October 15 to November 15, 2022, thus, the request of the Association for a change of the schedule of their activity to October 14, 2022 and January 1 to 31, 2023.

The local legislature’s committee on market, trade and commerce and agriculture, in its 3rd indorsement dated September 21, 2022, recommended approval of the request, subject to conditions. These are: The activity shall be subject to the rules and regulations being imposed by the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) on the park’s usage; the CEPMO shall designate the specific dates within the period Oct. 1 to 14, 2022 and Jan. 1 to 31, 2023, as requested but not exceeding 30 days; and the association must comply with the necessary permit and/or payment of fees before the activity’s conduct.
