The Baguio City Jail Male Dorm headed by Warden JSupt. April Rose Ayangwa leads the launching and ceremonial lighting of the Wishing Christmas Trees inside their facility on Wednesday (December 13). These Christmas Trees are made of recycled materials and carries notes of Christmas wishes from the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
Ayangwa shared that these Christmas Trees are a heartwarming initiative of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Cordillera Regional Director Atty. Kenneth Bid-ing that aims to encourage the BJMP service providers, personnel, PDL visitors, and kind-hearted individuals in the community to help spread the spirit of kindness and help the BJMP bring joy and compassion to the PDLs and their families by granting the wishes attached to the Christmas Tree.
Kind-hearted benefactors from the community who want to grant some Christmas wishes can visit the Baguio City Jail Male Dorm to look into the wishing Christmas Tree. To date, there have already been 10 wishes granted. The public can also support the Concert for a Cause that the male dorm, in partnership with their advisory council, will conduct on Saturday, December 16. For a P500 or P1,000 ticket, you can greatly help bring Noche Buena food packs for the families of the PDLs.
