Yap reaches out to more sectors in Benguet

Farmers in Sablan receive financial aid from Benguet caretaker Eric Go Yap under the Mobile Tulong program geared towards extending relief assistance and other available services to the people of the province who were heavily impacted by Covid-19 pandemic.
Yap is targeting 400 farmers each from the 13 municipalities of the province. MAKING sure that the national government’s services reaches the grassroots, Benguet caretaker Eric Go Yap assured all sectors in the province will be given financial and other forms of assistance especially during this pandemic.
Yap close to P2,000,000 in cash assistance to farmers in Barangays Pappa, Kamog, and Banangan on June 17; Banengbeng, Balluay, Bagong, Bayabas, and Poblacion on June 18 in Sablan as part of his Mobile Tulong program geared towards extending relief assistance and other available services to the people of the province who were heavily impacted by Covid-19 pandemic.
The solon said Sablan is the first beneficiary in the province while Kapangan and Kibungan will be next until all the farmers in all the municipalities of the province are given aid. “We’re bringing the national service to their doorsteps,” Yap said of the financial assistance to farmers sourced out from the General Appropriations Act of 2021.
Yap added farmers wanting to avail of the financial aid must present a certificate of indigence and do not need to join a farmers group or organization. “After maubos yung P1 billion na pondo ng DOH, DOLE, at DSWD na na allot sa atin for 2021 at yun ay plano ko pang madagdagan sa 2022 kasi for so long itong probinsya natin sa Benguet eh nadeprive kami ng ganitong public service.
Ito na yung pagkakataon na talagang bumawi kami,” Yap said. After the farmers, Yap said the transports sector and pocket miners who were displaced will also be given assistance under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad).
Yap added P10 million was allotted to the more than 2,000 displaced workers in the transports sector of the province while another P30 million will be given to the more than 5,000 pocket miners. “After ng pocket miners and transport eh ibang sector naman. And we make sure na per barangay makakatangap dahil ayaw natin yung mga tulad ng mga pag mahina sa congressman, pag malayo yung barangay nila kay congressman hindi na sila makakapag avail.
Gusto ko kahit malayo sila, kami ang pupunta,” Yap added. Yap said they are ramping up the distribution of assistance in the province by going to the barangays while making sure that all beneficiaries personally receive their benefits.
