May 9, 2020 – Two more patients, one of whom an infant who tested positive when she was eight days old, were added to the city’s list of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recoveries yesterday bringing the total to 17.
The baby girl now 23 days old according to her carers was diagnosed last April 25 and confined at the Pines City Doctors Hospital.
Hospital staff gleefully sent off their lone COVID patient last night.
At 1 pm also yesterday, 22- year old Mae Anne Gabrielle Cachero was also discharged from the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center where she works as a nurse.
“God bless you and thank you for everything,” Cachero told the team of doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers who treated her for 17 days.
“This illness really affects everyone, the young, the old, the healthy, not healthy. Wala po siyang pinipili. Let us all help each other to fight COVID, lagi po tayong magiingat at sundin ang mga payo ng ating mga health officials,” she said during the send-off program arranged by her co-workers and capped off with a special performance by Dr. Noel Buccat and the IDB Boys.
She is the fifth healthcare worker in the City of Baguio to have contracted the virus.
